Former Connacht underage star dies in road accident in Australia

The village of Mulranny, Co Mayo, was mired in grief over the weekend following the death of local man Kevin Moran in a road traffic accident in Australia.

Mr Moran, aged in his early 30s, who represented Connacht Rugby at underage and A level, is reported to have died on Friday in Australia, where he had been living.

A native of Cushlecka, Mulranny, he also played for Mayo rugby club the Westport Bulls and soccer team Achill Rovers, who paid tribute to Mr Moran on social media.

Achill Rovers would like to send our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Kevin Moran who tragically lost his life yesterday. Kevin was a former Achill Rovers player. Ar dheis dé go raibh a anam.
