Defence guru Wilkins to share his expertise
Connacht defence coach Peter Wilkins will be delivering a workshop on the key aspects of defence in the game.
Peter will deliver an hour-long outdoor session followed by an indoor Q&A on Monday, December 4.
Peter's journey into professional coaching has taken him to the southern hemisphere and back.
Originally from England, he has worked with the Queensland Reds and most recently with PRO14 rivals Edinburgh.
After leaving the UK, he continued in a coach development role in Queensland but rapidly rose to the position of analyst, with Ewen McKenzie's Reds.
He combined being a Super Rugby analyst by day with coaching club rugby in Brisbane by night.
The long hours paid off as he earned the position of skills coach and then defence coach with the Super Rugby franchise.
Peter was lured to the Sportsground this season, having been on the opposing side to Kieran Keane during his time at the Reds. He highlighted that "the passion and rugby values of the Connacht community" attracted him to the position and this event aims to spread his knowledge through our club and schools coaches.
The course will take place on December 4 from 7.15-9.30pm. Further details are on the Connacht Rugby club and community website.
