May 25 will be once again a special day in Irish Tag Rugby as Corinthians get their Volkswagen Tag season underway in Corinthian Park, Cloonacauneen.

This year Corinthians have linked up with Monaghan and Sons on the Tuam Road, which will serve as venue sponsor for the event.

Now rated as the biggest tag rugby competition in the country, over 1,000 players representing 80 teams of all standards, shapes and sizes will take to the eight pitches.

The action starts on Friday, May 25, with games taking place each week until the grand finals night, which traditionally takes place on the Friday night before race week - July 28 this year.

Tag Rugby has seen an incredible increase in participation, not only from experienced players, but mainly from those who want to just have fun, with the social aspect one of the biggest attractions in the years that tag rugby has been played in the west.

The highlight of this year's tag social calendar is the colourful, theatrical, fun and highly imaginative Fancy Dress Party Night, which takes place on Friday, July 7.

The social fun will not just be restricted to that, as the Tag Rugby Beach Party will take place on Thursday, June 15.

Due to previous years' popularity, teams are reminded to enter as soon as possible, so to ensure you are part of Ireland's biggest tag rugby festival visit
