Cochrane on double as Ravens cut loose
Ulster Ravens 49 Bridgend 19
British and Irish Cup
At half-time it looked as though Bridgend were going to make Ulster fight all the way, but once the home team took the lead in the second period, the Welsh side capitulated at Deramore Park, Belfast.
Roger Wilson made his return from injury after moving to Ulster from Northampton in the summer, while the experienced Niall O'Connor was a regular for Connacht last year.
The score was 16-16 at the interval, with Ulster U-20 star Stuart Olding going in for an excellent try. O'Connor added the extras, while also kicking three penalties.
Six minutes into the second half, Ross Jones kicked his fourth penalty and that was the end of Bridgend's contribution.
Ulster, with Olding much in evidence, started to find gaps in the opposing defence and ran in another five tries, including two for Chris Cochrane.
