Clermont clear way for Blues to go through

LEINSTER now know that a bonus-point victory in today's clash with Saracens will put them into the quarter-finals after Clermont's 28-17 victory over Racing Metro last night.

Clermont Auvergne moved level on points with the Irish side in Pool 2 as they claimed a bonus-point victory over their French rivals at Parc des Sports Marcel Michelin.

The visitors had raced into an early 10-0 lead, but a try from Gonzalo Canale, converted by Brock James, got Clermont back within three points and further scores followed after the break for prop Thomas Domingo and Jason White. James converted both those scores to put the hosts 21-10 ahead.

Julien Jane pulled a try back for Racing but captain Aurelien Rougerie grabbed the vital fourth try to seal Clermont's win with nine minutes remaining.
