O'Connor may rejoin Ulster

ULSTER are keen to bring Niall O'Connor back to the province following the confirmation that Ian Humphreys will be joining London Irish at the end of the season, WRITES HUGH FARRELLY.

O'Connor left Ulster for Connacht last year and has another year on his contract, but it's understood that contact has been made with a view to securing his return . Ulster said yesterday that Paddy Jackson, Ruan Pienaar and Stuart Olding are all out-half options for next season and they are hoping to finalise their squad in the next few weeks.

However, with Humphreys leaving, Ulster could clearly use another specialist in the position and O'Connor would be ideal. While it would mean Connacht agreeing to let the 24-year-old go on an early release, Eric Elwood's side already have out-halves Dan Parks, Miah Nikora and Matthew Jarvis on their books for next season.
