Neck injury rules Racing's Ryan out of return visit to Thomond Park
Racing will be without Donnacha Ryan when they visit Munster in round two of the European Champions Cup later this month.
The second-row joined the Parisian club from his home province at the end of last season but he has yet to line out for them in the Top 14 due to a neck hernia.
Racing are not expecting to have their new man available until the end of November, which means he will miss out on their opening two European games which include a visit to Thomond Park in two weeks' time.
The injury also means Ryan will be unavailable to play for Ireland during the autumn internationals against South Africa, Fiji and Argentina; although the 33-year-old was unlikely to have been selected by Joe Schmidt who favours home-based options where possible.
