Munster have opened an investigation into the incident that saw a fan wearing their colours invade the pitch at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

The supporter, who has not been publicly identified, confronted controversial Saracens No 8 Billy Vunipola in the aftermath of the 32-16 defeat and was photographed pointing a finger in the England star's direction. Vunipola described the experience as "scary".

Munster said the fan is not a member of their supporters club and doesn't hold a season ticket. He was detained by stadium security and later issued with a lifetime ban from the stadium.

Vunipola was sanctioned by his club and the RFU for making social media posts in support of Israel Folau's controversial statements about gay people going to hell. He was booed throughout the game, while a number of supporters waved 'pride' flags as he went through his lap of honour.
