Munster add three young guns to European squad ahead of must-win clash with Racing 92

Munster head coach Johann van Graan has added three players to his Champions Cup squad ahead of Sunday's crucial trip to Paris to face Racing 92.

Munster are facing elimination unless they pull off a shock win against the pool leaders, with van Graan's side up against it to qualify for the quarter-final after losing to Saracens and drawing with Racing earlier in the campaign.

Furthermore, Munster have been dealt a hammer injury blow with the news that out-half Joey Carbery is facing a lengthy layoff with a wrist injury, with JJ Hanrahan in a fitness race to start the game at ten.

Ahead of the game, van Graan has added three youngsters to his squad to replace a trio of unavailable players. Departed second row Jed Holloway has been replaced by academy hooker Diarmuid Barron, back row Gavin Coombes comes in for the injured Tadhg Beirne and scrum-half Craig Casey is added in place of Alby Matthewson, who left the province before Christmas.

Munster vs Racing 92 kicks off a the U Arena on Sunday at 15.15 Irish time.

Elsewhere, Connacht have added second row Gavin Thornbury in place of Sean Masterson ahead of Saturday's clash with Toulouse.
