It has been a sobering European campaign for both Munster and Leinster, though both produced the goods over the weekend to restore pride after a number of disappointing results.

Leo Cullen pick an inexperienced side – six players made their Champions Cup bow – as they defeated Bath 25-11 at the RDS, while Anthony Foley's team atoned somewhat for last week's disappointing defeat and performance away to Stade Francais by defeating the same opposition 26-13 at Thomond Park.

The Telegraph has named two Irish players in their Team of the Weekend. Fresh from his man-of-the-match award at the weekend, lock Ross Molony gets the nod, along with Simon Zebo at full-back.

Garry Ringrose and CJ Stander can consider themselves unfortunate to miss out, while former Munster back Casey Laulala is one of four Racing Metro players selected.
