MUNSTER captain Peter O'Mahony remains "open-minded" about featuring in his side's final Champions Cup pool game against Exeter Chiefs this weekend but a decision on his participation will not be made until later this week.
"He's gone for a scan and had some treatment over the weekend,” said Munster coach Johann van Graan this weekend.
"He got a bang on the ribs. And with the rib cartilage there is a lot of pain, it just doesn't go away. We will give him every opportunity to play.
"However, if you're a forward it's not something you can hide when you are going into the mauls and the scrums.
"I have had a chat with him and he is open-minded about it. But he has to work with it first. We'll make a decision on it later this week."
Remember that saying of our youth - look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves? Well, while not suggesting that European rugby is in the penny place, given what lies ahead this year at international level, it's clear that through the provinces Irish rugby is looking after the pennies and everything else besides.
