Saracen's powerhouse number 8 Billy Vunipola said his side used pre-match comments from Munster as motivation going into today's comprehensive Champions Cup victory.

The Premiership side missed out on a bonus-point victory but dominated the encounter at Allianz Park as tries from Chris Wyles and Chris Ashton (2) saw Sarries run out convincing winners.

Munster now face the prospect of missing out on the European knock-out stages for just the second time in 17 seasons and man-of-the-match Vunipola said the team was fired up before the match over comments in media from the Irish province.

"We knew coming into this game there was lots of pressure on us," he said. "I think a bit of motivation came from when one of their (Munster) players said when it comes to Europe, they turn it on."

The England international led the charts for carries, tackles, metres made, offloads and defenders beaten and admitted his side are learning lessons from previous campaigns and beating European heavyweights.

"It's massive (today's victory)". "Last year we missed a trick in not beating Toulouse in one of the double headers we had. We had to put a marker down to the other teams, to ourselves.

"I think we did that today. As a team, we really laid down a platform."

Saracens travel to Clermont for the final game in Pool One.
