Brendan Fanning: Ulster boost as Henry given all clear

BRENDAN FANNING

Ulster are hopeful of having Chris Henry fit for their Heineken Cup semi-final with Edinburgh in Lansdowne Road on Saturday after he got a clear result on an X-ray yesterday morning.

The flanker, who has been a driving force in Ulster's European campaign this season, hobbled off in the first quarter of his side's defeat to Leinster in Ravenhill on Friday night after twisting his lower leg.

Ulster also lost Paddy Wallace and Pedrie Wannenberg during Friday night's Pro 12 encounter.

Wallace suffered a head injury and, given his history with concussion, there will be concern about his chances of recovering in time. There are no worries about the South African however.

Leinster, meanwhile, came through the game which consolidated their position at the top of the Pro 12 table, and have no injury concerns ahead of their semi-final with Clermont in Bordeaux on Sunday.
