Bowe lands top award

Ireland and Ospreys winger Tommy Bowe was last night named the Guinness Rugby Writers of Ireland Player of the Year at a function at the Aviva Stadium.

Bowe had an exceptional year for club and country and was part of the Ospreys team that won the inaugural Magners League Grand Final at the RDS.

He continued his stunning form from the Ireland's Grand Slam year of 2009 and his try-scoring prowess was evident again against South Africa last Saturday.

All-Ireland League and Cup Champions Cork Constitution were voted Club of the Year and Ireland's U-20s picked up the Dave Guiney perpetual award as Team of the Year in recognition of their Six Nations triumph.
