Blue Bull U-11s have 'Maor' than rest to clinch Irish Haka crown
A lot of hard work and some serious talent saw the Barnhall Blue Bull U-11s boys win the Lidl Ireland Irish Haka Competition last week.
With more than 200 entries from clubs all over Ireland it was no easy task to win the €2,500 prize on offer.
The journey began when coaches and parents from the U-11s got together to come up with fundraising ideas for the team. They saw the ad for the Irish Haka and off they went!
The stars of the video, which now has more than 8,000 hits on YouTube, include Conor Croke, Cathal Coffey, Eoin Cullen, James Doody, Ryan Flannery, Jack Green, James Kelly, Reuben MacCurtain, Daniel Meehan, Jack Murphy, Andrew Peard, Alex Quain, Mark Sheehan, Kyle Sheehy, Charles Sherry, Michael Charles Underwood, Matthew Booyens, Daniel Burke, Arun Doyle, Benjamin Lynch, Flavio Macari, Ross MacHale, Oliver McIntyre, David Rogan, Lochlann Smith and Thomas Suter.
The boys also filmed some NUIM Barnhall legends like Martin Moore and Trevor Brennan, who were more than happy to take part.
They also got some help from local schools and people around Leixlip.
Last week, the boys finally heard they had won from Leinster and Ireland star Ian Madigan. A fantastic day for the boys and a great win after all the hard work!
