Former Leinster coach Michael Cheika will hope to use inside information on his former charges in a bid to get one over on his successor, Joe Schmidt, when Australia meet Ireland meet this weekend.

"It's going to be vital," says Aussie lock Rob Simmons. "He's made it quite well-known how well he knows some of the players and what they'll be looking to do. That will help us prepare for the game.

"They're both clever coaches. He won't play mind games and I'm not sure of his exact relationship with Joe. At the end of the day, he just wants to win."

Simmons also said that his side will need to target "crafty" Paul O'Connell's line-out organisation that utterly stumped South Africa two weeks ago.

"As an individual, he is someone we need to focus on the way he manipulates attacks and defences from the maul."
