Round Two lands KO blow

Round Two made the perfect start to his career in the Fishery Lane Race at Naas.

The field went at a crawl through the first half of the race, led by Touch Of Frost, who was all the way tracked by odds-on favourite Argentero, with the eventual winner in close attendance.

As the market principals asserted inside the two-furlong pole, it looked like the Ger Lyons-trained Argentero would build on his taking success at this track last month but Jim Bolger's newcomer was able to go with him and got on top in the final 200 yards.

Bolger landed this race in 2012 with Dawn Approach, who went on to win the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot two runs later.

The County Carlow trainer is eyeing a similar path and said of the 3-1 winner, who runs in the colours of Godolphin: "He's very straightforward and a quick learner. I'm looking on him as a Coventry horse.

"I think he'll go on any ground. I wouldn't be too worried if he ran again (before Ascot). If it happens, it happens."

Bolger and Kevin Manning combined to land the feature Blue Wind Stakes with the impressive Pleascach, and they completed a treble when Novis Adventus (5-1) claimed the Kill (C&G) Maiden.
