Katie Taylor flies out to Rio today after completing her final training session in Dublin yesterday. The Olympic champion has been training and sparring with southpaw and orthodox fighters Eric Donovan, Shane Flavin and Christy Myers .

Russian-born coach Dmitry Dimitruk and John Cleary have been overseeing Taylor's sessions and implementing a training blueprint put in place by head coach Zaur Antia.

Taylor, Paddy Barnes, Brendan Irvine, Michael Conlan, David Oliver Joyce, Steven Donnelly, Michael O'Reilly and Joe Ward will represent Irish boxing in Rio.

The eight go into the hat for Thursday's draw at the Village Mall in Barra (3pm Irish time). Conlan (1), O'Reilly (2) and Ward (3) are ranked in the top three in the world by AIBA in regular amateur boxing.

However, World Series of Boxing (WSB) and AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) performances will be factored into the final seedings.
