Irish boxing hero Paddy Barnes has served up some wonderful Twitter messages as he has enjoyed his Olympic experience in Rio and his latest may just be the most comical yet.

While his medal hopes in the Rio ring ended long ago, the Belfast-born light-flyweight has been making the most of his time in Brazil by catching up with some of sport’s biggest names.

Now he has bumped into towering British world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, with this image confirming these two may not be meeting in a boxing ring any time soon.

Barnes jovially suggested ‘I reckon I could take him’ as he posed with the 2012 Olympic gold medalist, with this image proving to be a big hit on social media.

Barnes has built up an unfortunate reputation for cursing the sportsmen he has bumped into on his travels, with tennis stars Serena Williams, Caroline Wozniacki and Rafael Nadal among those beaten after a selfie with the Irishman.

He also had a photo with British swimming Tom Daley before his failed attempt to get into his diving final on Saturday.

We are all going to missing Paddy’s postcards from Rio now that the Olympics have come to an end.
