'I'm not interested in international boxing anymore': Pete Taylor won't be returning to Katie's corner Newsdesk Newsdesk

Pete Taylor has confirmed that he will not return to daughter Katie's corner in the aftermath of her shock Olympic loss.

The father-daughter team worked amazingly throughout her career - culminating in an Olympic gold medal in London in 2012 - before his departure led to a sharp dip in form for the Bray boxer, which saw her eliminated from the Rio games after just one fight.

When asked whether Pete would be back in her corner in the build-up to the Olympics, Katie repeatedly told the press that they would have to 'ask her dad'.

The Sun on Sunday did just that, and the boxing coach revealed in an interview with the paper that he won't work in his daughter's corner again.

"I'm not interested in international boxing anymore," he said.

"Obviously I'm not saying I'm not interested in Katie. Obviously I'm interested in Katie.
