Another huge win, another epic shirtless celebration: Scott Evans does Ireland proud as he moves into last 16
Scott Evans produced another dominant final set performance to book his place in the last 16 of the men's badminton at the Rio Olympics last night.
The Dubliner got a fair bit of attention for overcoming German Marc Zwiebler 2-1 on Friday - and then whipping off his shirt in celebration - but Evans was able to repeat the trick last night against hometown favourite Ygor Coelho de Oliveira.
After splitting the opening two sets, Evans took control in the decider, powering home by a score of 21-8 to advance to the last 16.
His win on Friday was the first ever by an Irishman at the Olympics in badminton, so Evans is making history with each performance.
His opponent in the second round has yet to be determined, but it is likely to be Denmark's Viktor Axelsen.
