Rafael Nadal may have got a hint that he was in for a tough night against Gilles Muller at Wimbledon before he even took to the court for his last-16 game on No.1 Court.

Nadal was tipped by many experts to back up his French Open triumph last month with another Wimbledon title after a sparkling start to his campaign in the biggest tournament of them all.

Muller's stunning 6-3 6-4 3-6 4-6 15-13 win in a match that latest nearly five hour had more twists and turns than any best selling novel, with the final twist seeing two-time champion Nadal crash out.

It may be that the unfortunate incident that happened just before the players took to the court was an omen for what was to come, with Nadal giving his head a real crack on a door frame as he went through his familiar warming up routine.

He could only smile about it with a bemused Muller, but we reckon he might have a bump on his head to add to his anguish following his Wimbledon exit when you see this footage.
