WATCH: Novak Djokovic doesn't know where to look as he hits Roger Federer with a forehand
Novak Djokovic was more than a little embarrassed as he smashed a ball into Roger Federer's back as the iconic duo teams up for the first time in a doubles match at the Laver Cup on Friday night.
The 'Ryder Cup of tennis' is taking place Chicago this weekend, with Bjorn Borg's Europe establishing a 3-1 lead over John McEnroe's World team after a tense opening day of action.
Yet it was the sight of Djokovic and Federer teaming up in a doubles match against Kevin Anderson and Jack Sock that set pulses racing, with the pair that have won a stunning 34 Grand Slam titles between them appearing too have a great chemistry on court.
Despite their status as greats of the game, the USA duo of Jack Sock and South Africa's Kevin Anderson pulled off a thrilling 6-7 6-3 10-6 win, with the match likely to be remembered for this unfortunate moment as Djokovic smashed a ball into his illustrious partner.
Well, that was AWKWARD 😳 pic.twitter.com/WHJKFL56qD— Laver Cup (@LaverCup) September 22, 2018
