TENNIS: Rory McIlroy's girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki claimed she was "tired and sick" after the world No 1 suffered her second defeat in three matches at the season-ending WTA Championships yesterday.

The Dane lost 6-4 6-2 to Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova, who earned an early break in the round-robin clash and never looked troubled, hitting 36 winners compared to just six for Wozniacki.

"I have been feeling tired, and to get a little bit sick now, that's not the best if you want to beat the top players," said Wozniacki , who had her blood pressure checked after the first set.

"Petra played well. And of course I wish I could have been 110pc, but my body just didn't seem to want the things that I wanted."

Wozniacki could still squeeze into the semi-finals -- Agnieszka Radwanska's three-set defeat of Vera Zvonareva last night kept the top seed's slim hopes alive.
