More than 25,000 people are expected to flock to see Olympic and World medallists tackle daunting fences at Tattersalls International Horse Trials.
Among the famous event riders competing in dressage, show jumping and a cross-country course at the Co Meath venue will be England's William Fox-Pitt, New Zealand's Andrew Nicholson and Sam Griffiths from Australia.
Organisers said the event, held on the Tattersalls 200-acre estate, near the villages of Ratoath and Dunboyne, would deliver a cash injection of €2m into the economy when it runs from May 27 to May 31.
Tattersalls event co-ordinator Joanne Quirke said it would be a family friendly day out with a shopping village, dog shows and food stands.
The Irish Independent is the official lifestyle partner to Tattersalls International Horse Trials. The event preview guide will be published in the Irish Independent on May 26.
This year's event will also host the Irish Independent Weekend magazine Most Stylish Couple award, in association with Dubarry of Ireland, with the winning couple taking home a prize from Dubarry worth €1,500.
