Om-my-God -- North Korean lifts three times his body weight

North Korea's Om Yun Chol yesterday joined an exclusive group of weightlifters who have lifted three times their body-weight in the clean and jerk -- and in the process won the gold in the first upset of the weightlifting competition at the London Olympics.

According to Om, it was all thanks to the "Great Leader."

Om (20), who stands less than 5ft tall, also set an Olympic record when he cleared 168kg in the clean and jerk in the men's 56kg category -- and immediately gave all the credit to late North Korean leader Kim Jong Il.

"How can any man possibly lift 168kg? I believe the great Kim Jong Il looked over me," Om said.

Om's achievement was even more impressive considering he was ranked just 11th in the world in 2011, and the best clean and jerk he registered last year was 156kg at junior worlds.

If they put the wrong flag up at the medal ceremony, we wouldn't want to be the person explaining it to Om...
