What is countback?

A COUNTBACK applies when a bout finishes level (15-15 in this case).

There are five judges for each bout, but only the three judges whose scores are closest together count towards the verdict.

In the case of a tie, the two judges' scores that have been discarded are brought back in. This is a countback, where every individual hit registered by a judge is now used to compile a final tally.

If boxers are still tied, the highest and lowest judges' scores for the red and blue corners are discarded.

If it is still level after this, the five judges take a vote.
