Noble leads strong field home at triathlone
Olympic hopeful Gavin Noble came out on top of a strong Irish contingent to win the Irish Sprint Championship Title at the Waterways Ireland triAthlone on Saturday.
The Fermanagh man completed the race in an impressive 58mins 29secs (Swim 9.11, Bike 29.26 and Run 17.54) in front of an estimated crowd of over 15,000 spectators, who lined the streets of Athlone.
Noble's closest challenger was junior Irish triathlete Owen Cummins who finished over a minute behind while the 2009 champion Bryan Keane, continuing his road back from a serious knee injury, finished third.
Aoife Lynch captured the women's event when she held off the challenge of Jennifer Duffy and Marie Boland.
