Teenager Sorcha Tiernan helped Liffey Celtics to National Cup silverware yesterday in a so-far unbeaten season.

The 19-year-old shot 22 points, including three three-pointers, against Brunell in the National Basketball Arena.

The Cork side could not compete with the firepower of the Celtics, with Briana Green also hitting 22 and both Karen Mealey and Allie LeClaire scoring 18.

Tricia Byrne was Brunell's main scoring threat, but she couldn't stop Celtics building a 43-23 lead by half-time.

The Kildare side continued to dominate the final quarter, recording the second-highest tally by a winning side in Women's Cup history.
