Former Irish Olympian Andy Lee must secure victory in New York tonight or the lights will begin to dim on his career on Broadway.

The Limerick middleweight headlines against Detroit's Darryl Cunningham (28-4) outings, while Lee will be looking to improve to 30 wins from 32 fights and improve his chances of a shot at England's IBF champion Darren Barker.

Meanwhile, David Haye's hopes of catapulting himself into world title contention have been dented by a hand injury that has forced the former WBA heavyweight champion to withdraw from next month's clash with Manuel Charr.

CRICKET

BILL COGHLAN continued his impressive start to the season with a confident 71 not out to leave Leinster Lightning in a dominant position after the early sessions of their three-day RSA Inter-Provincial Series match against the North-West Warriors.

The Clontarf opener struck 10 boundaries at College Park and added 99 for the first wicket with Patrick Collins as the home side replied strongly with 105-1 after dismissing the Warriors before tea for 191.

RUGBY

Former Shannon scrum-half Ian Sherwin has been appointed as the club's director of rugby, while Bruff have named Ben Martin as their head coach.

Martin will be joined by former Shannon coach Stephen Keogh as forwards coach. The management team will include John Broderick and Alfie Laffan.
