Kenny double at Olympia equestrian
Darragh Kenny produced a personal double and Ireland's fourth victory at the London International Horse Show at Olympia yesterday.
Riding Fixdesign Funke van't Heike, with which he also won Friday's Snowflake Stakes, the 27-year-old US-based Offaly man topped the Holly Speed Stakes in which Cian O'Connor lined up third with the mare Be Gentle.
The hugely popular week-long Christmas fixture has been a triumph from an Irish perspective, with Judy Reynolds making history when becoming the first Irish rider ever to take the lead in the Western European League after clinching fourth place in a Dressage World Cup qualifier.
Then 18-year-old Antrim teenager, Christopher Megahey, steered Seapatrick Cruise Cavalier to joint-victory in the Puissance before Kenny's first top placing on Friday. On Saturday Bertram Allen claimed the honours in the Christmas Masters.
