Irish gymnast Kieran Behan reaches European final in Baku

Irish gymnast Kieran Behan has qualified for the All Around Individual final at the European Games in Baku.

The 26-year-old was the only Irish gymnast to progress from today's qualifying session after ranking in 17th place overall.

In 2011 Behan at the European Championships in Berlin and the World Challenge Cup series where he won silver and bronze medals on the Floor Exercise. In 2012 he was only the second ever Irish gymnast to qualify for an Olympic games.

Earlier, Jenny Egan has failed to qualify for the final of the 200 metre Kayak Singles while Andrzej Jezierski had to settle for a place in the B final of the Men's 200 metre Canoe Singles after finishing 5th in his semi-final.
