Ireland's Sam Bennett won the sixth and final stage of the Tour of Qatar on Friday for the biggest win of his career.

The 24-year-old Bora-Argon 18 rider finished the 113-kilometres route from Sealine Beach Resort to Doha Corniche first in a sprint finish ahead of Andrea Guardini (Astana) and Nacer Bouhanni (Cofidis), with Peter Sagan (Tinkoff-Saxo) fourth.

Holland's Niki Terpstra (Etixx-QuickStep) claimed overall victory, six seconds clear of Poland's Maciej Bodnar (Tinkoff-Saxo).

Team Sky's Ian Stannard was fourth and Luke Rowe seventh, while Sir Bradley Wiggins was 78th overall in his first major outing of the season.
