The irony of the extraordinary high that his season has just finished on is not lost on Mark O’Connor when set against some of the lows he experienced.

An AFL Premiership winner after six seasons with Geelong, a moment he shared with Zach Tuohy as they became just the second and third Irish players, after Tadhg Kennelly, to achieve that with such an emphatic win over Sydney Swans in last weekend’s grand final.
