Hockey: Cargo delivers as Ireland off to flier

Ireland made the most of their chances against South Africa with a 4-2 win on the opening night of the Celtic Cup in Hillsborough.

Chris Cargo took the credit for the opening score that was actually kicked in by a defender.

John Jermyn made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on 19 minutes, but David Harte was beaten shortly before half-time by Lance Louw.

Tim Cockram repaired the damage and then Jason Lynch claimed the fourth.

But Lloyd Jones pulled one back for the visitors late on.
