Golden State Warriors tie NBA wins record with victory over championship rivals

Steph Curry scored 37 points as the Golden State Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 92-86 to tie the 1995-1996 Chicago Bulls for most wins in a season with 72.

Golden State end their season at home to Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and have the opportunity to break that record.

LaMarcus Aldridge scored 24 points to lead the Spurs but they lost three straight games for the first time this season.

DeMar DeRozan had 27 points as the Toronto Raptors stayed in contention for the top seed in the Eastern Conference with a 93-89 win over the New York Knicks.

Luol Deng scored 20 points as the Miami Heat beat the Orlando Magic 118-96, while Myles Turner weighed in with 28 points to help the Indiana Pacers to a 129-105 win over the Brooklyn Nets to clinch a play-off place.

Trey Lyles scored a career-high 22 points in the Utah Jazz's 100-84 win over the Denver Nuggets and 36 points from Khris Middleton helped the Milwaukee Bucks to a 109-108 overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

James Harden scored 40 points to lead the Houston Rockets to a 130-110 win over the Los Angeles Lakers and in the final game of the evening the Los Angeles Clippers won a fifth straight game with a 98-91 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
