Glenanore can lead rivals a merry dance

Any Corkman would probably prefer to win the Red Mills Irish Laurels at Curraheen Park than virtually anything else, including the Irish Derby!

Tom O'Neill is no exception and the Castletownroche trainer is entitled to his dream following Glenanore Dancer's huge run in last week's first round.

An instant star when he made his racing debut at the start of the year, Glenanore Dancer(9.40) has taken time to mature into a high-class tracker. He was massively impressive last week when clocking 28.08 and a similarly smart start tonight can see him lead home Skywalker Jet and Quail Hollow.

Fraser Black's Droopys Jet (8.10) occupies his usual place as Classic favourite and will take all the beating. He has the perfect inside draw this evening and can overpower Refuge Of Sinner and Harry Got Styles.

There are three withdrawals from tonight's Laurels heats, with Ballyhill Sub and Holborn Catchme both out of Heat 5 and Holycross Gerry withdrawn from Heat 6.

Other recommended bets on the night are Hot Pursuit (8.25), Borna Gem (8.40), North Bound (8.55) and Knockglas Billy (9.55).

Monleek Force and Mall Brandy have been withdrawn from the semi-finals of the Billy Mulvaney Memorial 600 at Shelbourne. The obvious outcome is a double for Conor Fahy with Tyrur Sugar Ray (10.0) and Tyrur Amelia (10.15). Both are well housed and Sugar Ray probably faces the tougher task with Melodys Gamble, on his inside, a threat.

The gates will be opening early at both Curraheen Park (4.0) and Shelbourne (4.45) to allow patrons to watch the All-Ireland hurling final replay.

Elsewhere, John McGee can win both semi-finals of the £6,000 Toals Bookmakers NI Derby at Drumbo Park this evening with Jaxx On Fantasy (9.22) and Graduation Day (9.37) nominated to defy difficult draws.

At Thurles, Roger Dwan should win the JJ McGrath Memorial final, but will it be either Borna Trump or Borna Helena? The draw may swing it for powerful finishing Borna Trump (10.05).

Hot Pursuit 8.25 Curraheen Pk

Borna Gem 8.40 Shel Pk

Knockglass Billy 9.55 Curraheen Pk

Tyrur Amelia 10.15 Shel Pk

PJ Fahy could hardly be described as a 'Guinness Man,' but he certainly reacted to Arthur's Day. On Thursday, he moved in to buy Wednesday night Shelbourne winner Mutual Benefit and promptly renamed the dog Tyrur Arthur.
