WITH two of the six finalists, event sponsor PJ Fahy will be chasing his own money in the final of the Tyrur McGuigan@Stud Open 575 at Shelbourne on Saturday.

Fahy and son Conor qualified both Tyrur Willyjoe and Tyrur Domingo for the final and both have prospects of figuring in the battle for the top prize of €7,000.

Tyrur Willyjoe hit the front on the run to the bend in the opening heat and comfortably held the challenge of the favourite Broadstrand Lad in 31.28, with Ohio Rumble a staying third.

The other heat saw Irene McConnell's Martinstown Snow sweep to the front on the second bend and he kept on stoutly for a length and a half margin over Croom Star in 31.35. Tyrur Domingo stayed on very strongly to be third.

The first round heats of the Joe Dunne Memorial Puppy Stake got off to a fine start as Droopys Jet and Subway Gerry both showed promise.

Droopys Jet tracked very well as he led all the way to win by a length and a half from Subway Gerry in 28.60, while the other heat winners were Swift Impulse in 28.83, Tyrur Sheehy in 28.93 and Ballybough Hawke in 29.32.
