Dunshaughlin 10k suits all entries
Plans are well under way for the 10th anniversary running of the Pat the Baker Longford Marathon -- an event that now incorporates a marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay and 39-mile ultra-distance event.
This year the Longford Marathon race organisers have also promoted a build-up race series to the big event on Sunday, August 28.
There have been good entries so for the 5k, 10k and 10-mile events that have taken place in Longford. A half-marathon is the next race scheduled for July 17.
Longford Marathon race director Liam Fenelon notched up his 225th marathon in Cork two weeks ago -- an exceptional achievement for the 70-year-old Longford native. Information from 087 2683650 or www.longfordmarathon.com.
A race with a charming atmosphere and a welcome for everybody is a description that fits the 32nd Michael Manning Memorial Dunshaughlin 10k road race that takes place on Saturday evening, June 25.
Organised to high standards by Dunshaughlin Athletic Club, this is an event that will suit runners of all levels of fitness.
There are generous cash prizes for the top finishers along with souvenir T-shirts for all finishers for a modest entry fee of just €12. This is a very special event that gets better every year. Online entry is open at www.dunshaughlinac.com.
