Dog Chat: Battle of unbeaten star duo to light up St Leger final

Priceless Sky and Skywalker Puma are now the joint favourites for the Irish St Leger in advance of Saturday's final at Limerick Stadium.

The two dogs are best priced 5/4 with both Boylesports and Paddy Power, while next in the betting comes Tibetan Skies at 8/1 with Ladbrokes. You can bet Cashen Mafuma and Kingo at 14/1 and Head For Fame is a general 25/1 outsider.

All connections are reported to be happy with their charges.

Skywalker Puma sustained a spiking in its semi-final but Matt O'Donnell remains confident that it won't pose any problem for the brilliant tracker.

Both favourites have reached the final unbeaten and in most impressive fashion.

Indeed, both dogs are chasing a seventh victory on the trot and the statistics suggest that there will be precious little between them.

Meanwhile, Ollie Bray's Paradise Madison is the 3/1 favourite to win the National Puppy Stake at Shelbourne following his sensational 27.92 record-breaking performance.

He was bought as an 11- month-old by owner Dave Buckley, with breeder Sean Meade holding on to a 'leg'.

Farloe Buddy is next best in the betting at 5/1, with Jacksallstar at 7/1 and Droopys Adler at 10/1.

There are any number of precocious pups in this stake and a number of them could improve out of all proportion in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, entries will close next Tuesday at noon for the Night of Stars meeting on December 1. The winners of the eight championship races will each earn €10,000.

About a dozen tickets at €100 for the restaurant have become available and they can be booked via news@igb.ie or via the call centre on 1890 269969.
