Chris Froome has reaffirmed his commitment to Team Sky by signing a new three-year contract to stay with the team until the end of 2020.

The three-time Tour winner's previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season. The 32-year-old will launch his bid for a fourth Tour de France crown when the race begins in Dusseldorf today.

"I've been at Team Sky since we began in 2010 and for me it's home," said Froome. "I'm really happy here and excited that I'll be with Team Sky for at least the next three years."

His commitment will come as a major boost for team principal Dave Brailsford amid an ongoing UK Anti-Doping investigation into alleged wrongdoing by Team Sky.
