SPECULATION is rife among WWE fans that 80s wrestling icon Hulk Hogan could be paying a visit to Dublin next month.

The speculation began online this morning after the WWE announced the Hulkster would be joining its UK and Ireland tour at a show in London on May 20th - just two days before the Dublin show.

The company tweeted this morning: "Whatcha gonna do brother, when Hulkamania runs wild in the UK @HulkHogan just confirmed to appear at WWE SmackDown Live at the O2 on May 20!"

Dublin native and former WWE champion Sheamus tweeted his delight, saying: "Just heard the man himself @HulkHogan coming to Smackdown TV on the UK tour... You excited brother? I am fella."

Wrestling fans have now mounted a social media campaign to get the star, famous for his body slam of Andre the Giant and Wrestlemania, to the Dublin show.

Noel McGuiness tweeted: "will the hulkster be coming to Dublin too? Make it happen"

Another tweeted him asking: "are you coming to Dublin Ireland with the WWE in may please say yes !"

The Dublin show takes place in the O2 on May 22nd.
