Bullet and Bugatti excel

A massive crowd turned up at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night and they witnessed some fabulous racing, with Rockchase Bullet and Razldazl Bugatti racing to victory in the semi-finals of the Irish Derby.

Both races were decided by early pace, though in Rockchase Bullet's case you could also add stamina into the mix as he posted a time of 29.67. This was a truly authoritative performance with Rockchase riding an early bump as Rockview Head moved inwards at the start of the first semi-final.

A powerful dash saw Rockchase take the bend on the inside of Rockview Head, while Razldazl George -- after a moderate start -- got a clear run up and was poised in third entering the back. From here, though, it was all about the Ronny Wuyts- trained Rockchase Bullet and he raced on to win by two and a half lengths in 29.67. Razldazl George grabbed second by a neck from Rockview Head.

Dolores Ruth and the Dazzling Syndicate got a second finalist 15 minutes later when Razldazl Bugatti made full use of his stunning early pace to build a winning lead in the other semi-final, as Dream Walker bumped Croom Star to go second.

Dream Walker looked a live danger down the back, but Razldazl Bugatti kept on well to win by three parts of a length in 29.99. It was that amazing veteran Krug Ninety Five which produced the big finish to snatch second place a length and a half in front of Dream Walker.
