Brady takes All-Ireland crown with spectacular performance

Cavan's Paul Brady produced a breathtaking display in the 40x20 court on Saturday in Roscommon.

Brady entered his 10th consecutive All-Ireland Senior Singles championship final chasing an eighth successive triumph in the blue riband event and faced Westmeath's Robbie McCarthy, who came into the final on the back of a 12-month unbeaten run.

Brady powered his way into a 17-2 lead in the opener and closed out the opening game in just 26 minutes. He opened up a 15-0 lead in the second game and six aces in a row secured him a 21-6, 21-1 win.

The GAA Handball All-Ireland Ladies Open Doubles crown is back in Antrim for the first time since 2009, after Fiona Shannon and Sibeal Gallagher reclaimed the title with an epic victory over Kerry's Maria Daly and Ashley Prendiville which finished 21-16 in the third.

Leitrim's Donal Wrynn won the Minor Championship, coming from behind to beat Wexford teenager Galen Riordain in three.
