Classy Katie Taylor knocked out Monica Gentili in the fifth round of her third professional fight in the 02 in Manchester.
Taylor dominated the fight from the first bell, and caught the durable Gentili with left hooks to the body time and time again in an entertaining display.
Wearing black and gold, the 30-year-old made her entrance to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck, and her hands were lightning fast from the outset.
The Bray boxer was in a different league to her Italian opponent, who had won six of her previous 12 professional fights.
The crowd enjoyed Taylor's classy display, and it was only a matter of time before the Irishwoman broke down Gentili's resilience.
"It was great to get the stoppage victory in the end," said Taylor. "Boxing those type of opponents, you can definitely express yourself a bit more.
"I felt a lot stronger, sharper."
Katie Taylor and her Italian opponent Monica Gentili have weighed-in ahead of their clash tomorrow night on the undercard of the heavyweight showdown between David Haye and Tony Bellew in London’s O2 Arena.
