Watch - Joyous scenes as Carl Frampton celebrates world title win with fans in New York
Despite a distance of over 3,000 miles, hundreds of Frampton fans still managed to make the trip from Belfast to New York.
Green and white shirts could be seen dotted around the Barclays Center and chants of Frampton's on Fire, Santa Cruz is Terrified echoed through the stadium ahead of the fight.
Mark Uprichard, from Lurgan, travelled with three friends to New York to watch Frampton's stunning victory.
He said: "We go to all his fights but last night was the best I've ever seen him box. The minute the decision was announced everyone went crazy. It was total euphoria. I couldn't be any more proud."
Joanne McAuley and her husband Brian, from Belfast, were among those who made the trip to see Carl take on Santa Cruz.
She said: "We were on holiday in Boston and when we heard the date for the fight, we had to go. I brought my American family and had them in Northern Ireland tops and everything.
"The Frampton fans all met up in a bar beforehand and there was a big crowd behind him.
"The whole atmosphere when we got to the stadium was great and really helped to push him on."
And her friend Walter Brown added: "I think there was over 1,000 people there for him, which was so good because it was quite far to go and after the Euros, quite a few people couldn't afford it.
"There were loads of Irish-Americans as well.
"The atmosphere was amazing. We were all scattered around the stadium but the Northern Irish fans stood out more than the Santa Cruz fans because they were singing so loudly.
And yesterday afternoon, the Jackal himself rewarded many of his loyal supporters - each who had travelled halfway across the world - with a party in New York Irish bar Annie Moore's, located in the heart of Manhattan.
