Louis Adolphe was the perpetrator of a sickeningly cheap shot on the undercard to George Groves' victory over James Cox at Wembley Arena last night.

During the first round of his bout with Nathan McIntosh, Adolphe was guilty of hitting his opponent when the referee had said 'break' and McIntosh was defenceless.

The previously unbeaten Adolphe immediately ran to his corner to celebrate to a chorus of jeers and boos from the crowd but his jubilation was shortlived.

Referee Howard Foster told Adolphe that he had failed to take a step back after a break had been called and he was disqualified.

He shook McIntosh's hand as the verdict was handed out but then made obscene gestures towards the crowd.
