Gennady Golovkin beat Kell Brook by technical knockout as the middleweight kingpin extended his unbeaten record to 36-0 on Saturday night.

Golovkin is the most feared fighter on the planet at the moment and it wasn't a surprise when Brook's corner threw in the towel during the fifth round. Many people commended the Briton's coaches for protecting their fighter but the response of one middleweight rival has drawn a lot of criticism.

Chris Eubank junior tweeted after the bout, 'if you want a fight with a real middleweight come get some. My corner don't own towels'.

The comment sparked a vociferous reaction on social media, with Matchroom Sport and World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn strongly condemning the remark.

"Possibly the most ignorant comment I have ever read on social media. Shameful," he tweeted.

Eubank junior is the current British champion.
