Revealed: The marketing stunt behind Paddy Barnes and Paddy Power's 'legal dispute' Newsdesk Newsdesk

It was good fun while it lasted.

Paddy Barnes shocked fans yesterday when he tweeted what appeared to be a 'cease and desist' letter from bookmaking giant Paddy Power.

Given that the company are known for making fun out of everyone in sport, it seemed bizarre that they would opt to pursue legal action against one of Ireland's most popular athletes.

Turns out it was all a marketing hoax. An email was quickly released announcing a partnership between boxer and bookmaker and thanks to an reader, we've gotten a sneak preview of what they have planned.

It looks like Paddy Power are doing a Paddy Barnes-themed takeover of at least one of their shops.

It will be interesting to see what else the partnership has planned as we creep closer to Rio.
