Ireland's boxers claimed two gold and two silver medals at the Elite Eindhoven BoxCup in the Netherlands yesterday.

European Youth champion Michael Nevin and James McGivern had their hands raised in victory in the middle and light finals on unanimous decisions.

Belfast native McGivern beat England's Cam Shaw, but English super-heavy Chez Nihell edged Tipperary's ex Irish Elite champion Dean Gardiner on a 4-1 split decision. Nevin took all five judges with him in a convincing verdict for the Portlaoise BC middle over Jaber Dahou of the Netherlands.

Galway welter Kieran Molloy had to cede a walkover in yesterday's decider against Belgium's Nabil Messaoudi after picking up a facial cut in his last-four win.

Cork pair Christina Desmond and Tiegan Russell, both representing the Fr Horgan's BC, took Elite gold and bronze.
